Personality: The first and foremost attribute to Kiba’s personality is loyalty. Loyalty is a creed instilled upon him from a very young age, and one that has stuck with him more than anything. Loyalty to friends, lovers, and family above all else. This is the kind of loyalty deep enough that he would gladly put his life on the line for those he cares about. Loyalty sometimes comes at a price, however, and opens the way for plenty of heartbreaks, bad relationships he refuses to end, and emotional pain in general. And as a creature driven mainly by instinct and emotion, emotional pain is rather hard for him to stomach. One may call this passionate, and true, he is rather passionate, sometimes to a fault.

But aside from that, Kiba’s outlook on life is rather optimistic and bright. He almost always wears a toothy grin, stands up straight and tall. Sometimes to the point where people consider him cocky. And yeah, sometimes he is. He’d rather call it ‘confident and having plenty of self-esteem’. He’d rather have fun than sit around his dorm, take a jog around the campus than study because yes… he was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, and it still shows to this day. Studying is not his strong suit, and his grades, unfortunately, reflect that. But social skills, on the other hand, are one of his strengths, and in turn, he can make friends with just about anyone. He cracks jokes, often, sometimes at the wrong time, but all in all it helps to make him a likeable person.

Some of his fears are silly and childish, reflecting obviously on his immature nature. He can be a clown, a twelve year old, and a tough guy all within a ten minute span. In fact, he gets in fights more often than he’d readily admit. There are reasons, yes, but it all boils down to his cockiness and a fuse that only lights when his opponent’s fuse lights first, or when pushed particularly hard. But that fuse has known to be explosive when lit, and is best avoided if there’s no one there to soothe him. Sometimes with friends, close male friends, it seems as though he’s angry or a bit of an asshole, but it’s really all fun and games. And as any guy knows, it’s fun to be an asshole to your friends, so long as the feeling is mutual.

History: Even from a young age, Inuzuka Kiba was more than most teachers and parents could deal with. Some tried to pin it with labels, calling him ‘hyperactive’, a ‘loudmouth’ or a ‘troublemaker’. And perhaps they were right. 1/3 of Kiba's elementary years were spent in the principal’s office, or in detention. Not to mention the fact that he could no longer count the time’s he’d been kicked out of class on one hand… by age eight. His mother had signed him up for soccer and started him on guitar at a very young age, hoping to burn away some of his energy in a more positive way. While Kiba in fact loved playing the game, and the burn and bleeding of practicing guitar for hours on end, even that wasn’t enough to thwart his troublemaking ways.

But despite the detentions and the stress he constantly put his mother through, it was a rather happy childhood, filled with fond memories and many friends, and a lot of laughs along the way.

Junior high and high school had been a little rougher on Kiba. After his parents divorced, his hyperactive, troublemaking tendencies got worse. He was never able to sit in one place for long. That coupled with his stubborn nature often made it hard to pay attention in school. He was often frustrated, and began a habit of cutting class… a bit of a problem, even to this day. His grades began to slip, and in response his mother began bringing him to the family animal clinic, hoping that the more interactive style of learning would help him concentrate. And in a way, it worked. As it turns out, Kiba was a natural at animal handling, and all the extra energy pent up in his pubescent body was perfect for running errands and playing with young pups that sometimes called their household/clinic home. His grades steadily improved again, and in his senior year of high school, as a reward for his improvements, his mother Tsume gave him a small pup of his own, which he lovingly named ‘Akamaru’. From that moment on, Kiba and Akamaru were the best of friends, and when Kiba wasn’t in school, the two of them were nearly inseparable.

The summer after high school was rough on Kiba. He spent that stretch with one part time job after another… but unfortunately his attention span regarding that was just as bad as it had been when he was a child. He never lasted more than two weeks at any particular job before he was either fired, or quit out of boredom, the only thing that held his attention being the continued work he did with animals at the clinic.

And after one summer had passed, Kiba took his sister’s advice and enrolled in a local college in order to continue the family trade at the animal clinic. That and to try out for the soccer team.
